C'mon Tigers

Just win one game. A game five means Aretha Franklin will sing the national anthem, and Giants fans will have to deal with that little kernel of doubt.

ETA: of course the moment I publish this, Posey hits one out for the Giants to take the lead.

Fucking Zombie Baseball Team

As a die hard Reds fan, The success of the Giants in the post-season is killing me.
I was at Game 2, and left thinking the Reds have the stuff to be champions.

Dammit.

The annoying thing is...and don't tell nobody...I like the Giants.
That team is an incredible mix of personalities and weirdness and passion.

...and it works...for a baseball team that's big and rare.

I was totally there throwing ticker tape during the 2010 World Series celebration parade.

However, their fans have been annoying me lately, and I'm still bitter how the Reds went out so...go Tigers!

The Williams' Court at the Home Depot Center

I propose that the tennis stadium at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA be named after the Williams sisters.

The Diva of the Galaxy

I'm beginning to wonder if Beckham schedules his histrionics whenever he's need to go or be somewhere else during the season.

Kick a ball at a Quake and a ref, get into a scrum, maybe they'll suspend me long enough to hang out at the Olympics. :)

ETA: The league suspended him for one game. Guess he'll have to try harder.

ETA #2: He's at the Wimbledon Men's Final. HA! I picked the wrong event.

Ruud is right

I think Ruud isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, and that's being kind, but his response to Platini's idiotic, asinine, and plain stupid statements on what players should or shouldn't do in response to racist taunts directed at them, is dead fucking on point.

Yes, tell the refs, then walk the fuck off.

Platini's a naïve tool. He doesn't grasp the enormity of the problem.

Considering the Dutch incident already, he's about to find his shoulders are about to get much heavier.

Happy Pills?

Is it me, or do the US Men look miserable out on the field? I don't mean the way they're playing, but their lack of joy at playing. Donovan hinted at his occasional lack of passion recently, but it feels like no one on that team is having fun.

Taylor Twellman mentioned during yesterday's broadcast that the boys might be tired. They're definitely playing like it now. The mood of the team just seemed dour. It's a sharp contrast to their smiling, positive coach.

I makes me wonder if Jürgen turns into Mr. Hyde during practice. Grinding them down behind the scenes.

Okay, enough German S/M Nazi fantasies. :)

I gotta agree with Twellman. They look like they need a day or two off. It wouldn't surprise me if Guatemala pulls off the upset on Tuesday.
